Blake Edwards’ screen adaptation of Truman Capote’s novella stars Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, an eccentric top-elegance escort working in New York. When young creator Paul Varjack (George Peppard) – the kept man of a rich older girl – moves into Holly’s apartment block, he unearths inspiration when he falls in love together with her. Daring in its day, it’s believed by a few that Peppard was once chosen because he bore an uncanny resemblance to Capote himself.
